The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is incompatible with older S Pens.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is the first foldable phone to use the S Pen, however compatibility appears to be limited. Because it was confirmed that using existing S Pens will damage the screen, the business created the S Pen Pro and the limited-edition S Pen Fold Edition.

Unlike any other S Pen, the two new styluses have a tip. They're softer and, maybe most crucially, retractable. The mechanism protects the softer foldable screen from damage when pressure is applied. Even with the new 80 percent harder protective covering, extreme force with the conventional S Pens, as seen in the Note series phones, might damage the screen.

If you try to use a S Pen other than the two that are officially supported, the Fold3's One UI will tell you it's incompatible and won't operate with it.

The S Pen Fold Edition will set you back $50, while the S Pen Pro will set you back $100. Samsung does, however, offer pre-order packages that include the S Pen Fold Edition and a case with a space for it in various areas.
